Hair loss protocol

We have established that 5α-Reductase Inhibitors are going to be a staple in your hair loss protocol. However, for people running exogenous steroids and are very prone to hair loss, 5α-Reductase Inhibitors may not be enough. We will go through the full hair loss stack. Prevention is always best

I will start by saying that the best hair loss protocol is prevention. It is much easier to keep what you have then it is to bring hair back from a miniaturised state. It is possible to bring hair back if the follicle is still there, however it is a longer and harder process. Do not be this guy:

There are going to be 3 ways we are going to tackle hair loss. We have to deal with androgens at the scalp, which are DHT and Testosterone, and we are going to have to deal with hair growth stimulation.

Dealing with androgens

We have established that using 5α-Reductase Inhibitors, specifically Dutasteride 2.5mg, is going to absolutely nuke our DHT levels into the ground, and reduce scalp DHT as much as we can through them. However, there is still going to be some residual DHT left at the scalp, since even at 2.5mg Dutasteride you are not going to have 100% suppression. You are also going to have something called scalp Testosterone. Testosterone is still androgenic, just not nearly as much as DHT, so it will still miniaturize our hair follicles, just sower. We obviously want Testosterone in out body, so we cannot do anything about scalp Testosterone systematically. This is where topical anti androgens come in to play. Specifically RU58841.

RU58841

RU58841 is an anti androgen applied topically to the scalp. It binds to the androgen receptors in the scalp where applied and prevents DHT and Testosterone from binding. Since DHT and Testosterone cannot blind to the receptors, androgenic effects will not be exerted on the hair follicles, and your hair will be safe from the norwood reaper. You can buy pre-made RU58841 solutions, but that may get expensive, so it is best to buy RU powder in bulk and store it in the freezer, and create your own solutions using ethanol or DMSO that you refrigerate. RU58841 only needs to be applied once per day, since even though RU58841 only has a half life of one hour, RU58841 is broken down into a metabolic form called RU56279, which is the androgen antagonist. It has a half life of of 20-25 hours. This means once a day application of RU58841 is more than enough. RU58841 will only work on areas you apply it to, so it's definitely a great ideal to apply to very androgen sensitive areas like the temples and the crown. If you are very androgen prone, applying it everywhere won't hurt however.

We have now delt with all the androgens at the scalp using our 5α-Reductase Inhibitor and topical anti androgen. The combination of these two will be enough to halt any hair loss, and if you have lost ground, but the hairs are only miniaturised, these two alone will be enough to being the hair back over time. However if you want that extra "boost" in hair growth and thickness we can look into adding a growth stimulant, like Minoxidil.

Growth stimulants

Minoxidil is going to be the growth stimulant of choice. There is a topical version and and oral version of Minoxidil. I recommend using the oral form of Minoxidil due to its superior effectiveness over topical application. Oral minoxidil is converted to minoxidil sulfate which makes Minoxidil is a vasodilator since it opens potassium channels which "relaxes" the blood vessels improving blood circulation and flow. The increased blood flow to the follicles will mean more nutrients are given to the follicle, allowing for more growth. Minoxidil also shortens the telogen (resting) phase and extend the anagen phase of the hair cycle, leading to longer, thicker hair growth over time.
