The last thread discussed this to some extent already. Chin implants and a genioplasty aren't the solution in most cases. Fat grafting simply mogs, the ideal scenario would augmenting the bones and topping it off with fat grafting.
If you proceed to just get a genioplasty you will notice that you look off.
Recessed chin ≠ recessed mandible
A weak chin is sometimes just poor forward projection. There is a clear difference between a recessed mandible and a recessed chin.
What actually happens when you add an implant/genio
Key signs you’re not a good implant/genio candidate
- Deep mentolabial fold
- Recessed lower jaw
- Weak neck-chin seperation
- Bite deformities
- Bad hyoid
