Ideal Facial Ratios - Side

Gonial angle

This is the angle formed by the junction of the posterior and lower borders of the lower jaw. Meaning it is the angle made between the mandible and the ramus.

The ideal angle is going to be between 112 and 123 degrees.

Nasofrontal angle

This is the place where nose meets glabella. The angle is measured as shown below.

The ideal angle is going to be between 106 and 129 degrees.

Ramus to mandible ratio

This is going to be the length of the ramus divided by the length of the mandible.

The ideal ratio is going to be between 0.59 and 0.75

Nasofacial angle

The inner angle formed by the intersection of the facial plane (glabella to pogonion) and the nasal dorsal plane.

The ideal angle is between 30 and 36 degrees.

Nasolabial angle

The angle from made by the point to the bottom of the nose to the top of the lip.

The ideal angle is going to be between 94 and 117 degrees.

Orbital vector

This is how much the area under your eye protrudes.

Having a positive orbital vector is going to be ideal. Neutral is also OK.

Total facial convexity

This is the angle measured by having one point at the chin, one at the tip or the nose

The ideal angle is between 137 and 149.

Mentolabial angle

This is the anterior angle formed by the intersection of a tangent to the lower lip to the upper part of the soft tissue chin pad.

The ideal angle is going to be between 108 and 130 degrees

Nasal angle

This is the angle of the nasal tip as shown below.

The ideal angle is going to be between 112 and 125 degrees.
